Das sind doch die wahren Probleme. Da klaut einer Unterwäsche in China. In den letzten 6 Jahren hat der Dieb “3,977 panties, 355 bras and 10 pairs of stockings” auf die Seite gebracht. Der gehört geblockt !
Panties sind Schlüpfer, man kann auch “undies” oder einfach “underwear” dazu sagen. Apropos im Winter 2006 Issue des American Oxford Magazines gibt es eine wunderbare Story von Andrew Hudgins mit Gedanken zur Unterwäsche seiner Frau: “Right after we got married, Erin and I squabbled a bit about how to do laundry. She wanted her panties folded, and I, since I merely took mine and jammed them in a drawer saw no reason to treat hers differently, especially since there was less fabric to start with and that flimsy and hard to fold. I did not win this argument and probably didn’t deserve to win it.
But then a couple of years ago I realized that, in all my teen and preteen years of doing laundry, I’d never once seen my mother’s underwear in the wash - a thoughtfulness for which I am deeply grateful and which has spared me years of therapy.”
“Flimsy” heißt übrigens “hauchdünn”.
