Schnorcheln durchs Moor am Bank Holiday
Sprachfetzen hat schon einmal übers Bog snorkelling berichtet. Am heutigen Bank Holiday finden die Bog Snorkelling Championships am Waen Rhydd peat bog, in der Nähe von Llanwrtyd Wells in Wales statt.
“The aim is to swim two lengths of the 60-yard Waen Rhydd peat bog with flippers and snorkel in the fastest time. There are different categories including juniors, fancy dress, women’s and men’s”.
“Bog” heißt natürlich “Moor”, aber man kann es auch mit “Sumpf” oder als Slangbegriff für “Scheißhaus” übersetzen. Als Verb wird es für “steckenbleiben” und “versinken” gebraucht.
