“that” makes the difference
Eigentlich funktionieren die Sätze ohne “that”.
I convinced her babies are noisy
I gave the child the bully on the playground slapped a plaster
Das ist nichts falsch dran(okay, die Kommasetzung fehlt), aber mit einem “that” an der richtigen stellen, versteht man den Zusammenhang besser.

I gave the child that the bully on the playground slapped a plaster
Naja man kann nicht immer gutes Englisch verlangen, das wußte schon G. B. Shaw als er meinte: “English is the easiest language to speak badly” und natürlich auch: “The English have no respect for their language, and will not teach their children to speak it.” (Quelle).
