Heute und am Freitag gibt es musikalische Gäste bei Sprachfetzen. Die vorgestellten Künstler hat Sprachfetzen um einen kleinen “someone once told me” Lebensweisheit für die Sprachfetzen-Leser gebeten.
Sam Doores kommt aus New Orleans, ein junger Songschreiber der gerade seine erste Platte aufnimmt. Der sympathische, talentierte Performing Artist, schreibt von Woody Guthrie beeinflußte Rohdiamanten, die gleichermaßen im Zwielicht der nachmitternächtlichen Kneipeneinsamkeit und im hektischen Sonnenlicht am U-bahn Eingang in der Fußgängerzone zu Hause sind.

Sprachfetzen erzählte Sam von seinen Irland und Englandbesuch und gibt den Sprachfetzen-Lesern einen guten Ratschlag:

I’ve been to Ireland and England, never Germany.  I lived in Ireland a while playing on the streets and in the pubs of Gallway.  Worked on a farm down in county wexford.   I only visited london for a few days and had a rough time of it.  I loved the museums though… but I was pretty broke and everyting cost a heap of change.

Well… an old fella around here once told me “Sammy!  if you wanna be happy, ya gotta keep both sets of eyes open:  your child eyes and your old man eyes…. and if ya wanna change th world!  you gotta make that one foot radius round yo self the best place you can possibly imagine… then start in on workin’ for two feet, then three… till you got the whole damn room. “   That fella had one blue eye and one green eye and he was a black man with a warm, powerful, wise presence.

One of my favorite sayings that my uncle always used to use as a toast was “here’s to her, to her again, if you can’t get to her, let me to her, cuz i’m used to her…”   Doesn’t mean much, but I like how it rolled off his toungue.
